Where did you learn to make music?
I first started in my Electronics Arts course at the University of Western Sydney, although I really started to come to grips with things when I went on exchange to Concordia University in Montreal. Since then, most of my craft’s been self-taught, although I have to thank Computer Music Magazine for giving me a heap of good tips, tools and tricks over the years.
What do you use to make your music?
Check out the G.EAR section to see a breakdown of my current hardware and software.
What are your favourite music gear brands?
Image Line, Native Instruments, Vestax and Audio Damage.
How often do you release new stuff?
I don’t really work to a schedule unless I’ve got a deadline coming up with a game I’m doing the soundtrack for. However, I’ll aim to get at least one new piece of music done every month or two. Unfortunately, I can’t release publicly every new track I complete, due to the projects I’m working on not being ready for release.
Could you help me make music too?
I can try. Just email me any questions you might have and I’ll be happy to give some tips if I can!
Who / what are your strongest musical influences?
Probably games from the 90’s. I just loved the raw, catchy soundtracks of action-packed platformers like Jazz Jackrabbit and Sonic the Hedgehog. I’m also very fond of modern musicians like Anders Trentemoller, LIL’ JON, Rex the Dog, A*S*Y*S, Boys Noize and AC Slater, along with groups like Knife Party, Perfume, Justice and Chemical Brothers. Oh yeah… and the awesome stupidity of the Internet has influenced me in more ways than I’d like to admit…
What are your favourite vidya gams?
Fallout: New Vegas, Binding of Isaac, Max Payne 3, Jazz Jackrabbit, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Generations, Deus Ex, Sacrifice, Spec Ops: The Line, Heart of Darkness, Final Fantasy VI, Sam n’ Max: Hit The Road, Resident Evil 1 Remake, Wario Ware Smooth Moves and Worms & Reinforcements.
Could you DJ for my party / event?
Sure! Just drop me an email.
Do you do collaborations / requests?
Mmm… Sometimes. I’m always open to suggestions of course, but I can’t promise anything.
What stuff are you working on now?
I’m offering my services as a sound / game designer where I can to those who ask. Always looking for new things to get involved with.
Bro, do you even lift?
Yes.
